Dr. Michael Fielden
Associate Clinical Professor, University of Calgary and Partner at Calgary Retina Consultants, Canada
Dr. Fielden is a Calgary Retina Consultants partner at the Southern Alberta Eye Centre and is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Calgary. He has a busy clinical retinal practice and performs all medical retinal procedures in the office, including laser treatment and ocular injections. He has a special interest in diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. He participates in medical student, resident, and fellow education. Dr. Fielden frequently gives lectures to a variety of healthcare professionals, including at international retina meetings. He actively participates in clinical research as a principal investigator and has numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.
Dr. Fielden is the past president of the Retina Society of Alberta, and is a member of the Alberta Medical Association, Canadian Medical Association, Canadian Ophthalmological Society, and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
